DONNA SUTHERLAND CONFIRMED FOR THE TECHNOLOGIES FOR SUSTAINABILITY INTERNATIONAL ROUNDTABLE
We are delighted to announce that Donna Sutherland, Head of Commercial at Veri Energy Limited, will join the Technologies for Sustainability – International Roundtable as a panel speaker in Aberdeen on the 21st October 2026.
Donna brings more than two decades of experience across the energy industry, spanning major capital project delivery, strategic business development and commercial leadership. Her experience extends across subsea project delivery, decommissioning, renewables, thermal power generation, power networks, carbon and the energy regulatory landscape.
Today, Donna is part of the team behind one of the most ambitious energy transformation projects in the North of Scotland.
As part of the small team that founded Veri Energy, Donna is helping lead the transformation of the Sullom Voe Terminal in Shetland into what is intended to become Europe’s largest energy hub, with a focus on renewable power and e-fuels to support the decarbonisation of hard-to-abate industries.
Her experience will bring an important perspective to one of the central conversations at this year’s Roundtable: how do we ensure the energy transition creates real opportunities for businesses, supply chains and communities across the North East and wider North of Scotland?
The region has spent decades developing world-class energy, engineering and supply-chain capability. The question now is not simply how we transition away from existing energy systems, but how we use that capability, infrastructure and experience to build what comes next.
Donna’s work at Veri Energy puts her directly within that challenge: bringing together existing industrial assets, new technologies and emerging energy markets to create a different future for established energy infrastructure.
Alongside her role at Veri Energy, Donna is Vice President of the Scottish Energy Forum and a Visiting Professor at the Centre for Energy Policy at the University of Strathclyde, giving her a perspective that reaches across industry, policy and the wider energy system.
The fourth edition of the Technologies for Sustainability – International Roundtable will be the first held outside London. It is being organised by MBY Consultants and The FuturED Institute in partnership with the International Green Trade & Commerce Association, with institutional support from OEUK and the Nuclear Industry Association.
We look forward to welcoming Donna and continuing an important conversation about how the energy transition can translate into tangible industrial and economic opportunity for the region.
