HARRIET CROSS MP TO DELIVER KEYNOTE AT THE IV TECHNOLOGIES FOR SUSTAINABILITY ROUNDTABLE

We are delighted to announce that Harriet Cross MP, Shadow Secretary of State for Scotland and Shadow Minister for Energy Security and Net Zero, will deliver the opening keynote address at the IV International Roundtable on Technologies for Sustainability, taking place on 21 October 2026 at Maryculter House, Aberdeen.

Organised by MBY Consultants Ltd in partnership with The FuturED Institute and supported by the International Green Trade & Commerce Association (IGTCA – The Green Chamber), the Roundtable will bring together entrepreneurs, investors, business leaders, academics and policymakers to explore the technologies, partnerships and investment opportunities driving the transition towards a more sustainable economy.

This year’s edition marks an important milestone as the event will be held outside London for the first time. Moving to Aberdeen reflects Scotland’s growing international leadership in energy, engineering, innovation and the net-zero transition, while expanding the Roundtable’s reach across the UK.

Harriet’s presence at the Roundtable is particularly significant. As MP for Gordon and Buchan, she represents a North East constituency at the heart of Scotland’s energy and maritime economy. Her dual shadow portfolios, overseeing both Scottish affairs and energy security, bring together the national and sectoral questions that will define the day’s conversations. Beyond her parliamentary roles, Harriet spends considerable time engaging directly with upstream supply chain companies and operators, gaining firsthand insight into the industry’s challenges, capabilities and opportunities. This ground-level understanding of how Scotland’s industrial base works, how companies navigate regulation, investment, skills and market access, makes her perspective uniquely valuable to a Roundtable focused on turning emerging technologies into real partnerships and deployable solutions.

Her keynote address will offer delegates valuable insights into energy security, industrial innovation and the role that Scotland’s capabilities must play in the sustainable economy.
