The organisers of the IV International Roundtable on Technologies for Sustainability are delighted to announce that Myrtle Dawes OBE, Chief Executive Officer of the Net Zero Technology Centre (NZTC), will be joining this year’s event as a featured speaker.

Taking place on 21 October 2026 at the historic Maryculter House Hotel, near Aberdeen, Scotland, the Roundtable will bring together leaders from industry, academia, government and the investment community to explore the technologies, partnerships and policies driving the transition to a more sustainable future.

As Chief Executive of the Net Zero Technology Centre, Myrtle Dawes leads one of the UK’s foremost innovation organisations accelerating the development and deployment of technologies for a net zero energy industry. A Chartered Chemical Engineer and Fellow of the Institution of Chemical Engineers with more than 30 years of experience in the global energy sector, she is widely recognised as one of the UK’s leading voices on the energy transition. She holds a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering and Chemical Technology from Imperial College London.

Before joining NZTC, Myrtle held a range of senior leadership positions in engineering, project management, technology and digital transformation, following her early career as an offshore engineer with BP. She also serves as Chair of the Aberdeen Net Zero and Adaptation Board and as a Non-Executive Director of FirstGroup, bringing her expertise across multiple sectors and geographies. In recognition of her services to energy and technology, Myrtle was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the 2026 King’s Birthday Honours.

Myrtle’s participation further strengthens the Roundtable’s programme, bringing invaluable insight into how innovation, technology and cross-sector collaboration can accelerate the transition to a secure, competitive and sustainable energy future.
