FROM ABERDEEN TO PANAMA: CONNECTING GLOBAL ENERGY, TRADE AND SUSTAINABILITY

Aberdeen, October 2026 – The IV International Roundtable on Technologies for Sustainability, held on 21 October 2026 in Aberdeen, Scotland, successfully brought together over 30 companies and organisations from the private sector, public institutions and academia, strengthening its position as an international platform for sustainable innovation, investment and business cooperation.

Hosted outside London for the first time, the Roundtable took place in one of the United Kingdom’s most important energy hubs. Aberdeen City and Shire generate approximately £15.3 billion in annual economic output, representing over 10% of Scotland’s economy, while Northeast Scotland remains a major centre for the UK’s energy industry.

Across four expert panels, representatives from leading organisations, including the North Sea Transition Authority (NSTA), Offshore Energies UK (OEUK), the Net Zero Technology Centre, the University of Dundee, Spirit Energy and Amentum Technology Division, explored opportunities in energy transition, maritime innovation, sustainable infrastructure and international trade. Dedicated B2B meetings further encouraged commercial engagement and the development of new partnerships.

A key highlight was the participation of H.E. Guido J. Martinelli, Ambassador of the Republic of Panama to the United Kingdom, whose address emphasised opportunities for strengthening bilateral trade, investment and international cooperation.

PANAMA 2027: TURNING CONNECTIONS INTO BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES

Building on the Roundtable’s international momentum, the IGTCA Trade Mission to Panama 2027, scheduled for 12–21 May 2027, was officially announced during the event.

With an economy exceeding US$90 billion, Panama represents a strategic gateway to Latin America and international commerce. In 2025 alone, the Panama Canal recorded more than 13,400 vessel transits and US$5.7 billion in revenue, demonstrating the scale of the country’s maritime and logistics infrastructure.

Organised by the International Green Trade & Commerce Association (IGTCA), the mission aims to connect international companies, investors and institutions with commercial opportunities across energy, maritime services, logistics, infrastructure and sustainable technologies.

The programme will seek to facilitate high-level institutional engagement, sector-specific business meetings and networking opportunities, including potential engagement with the Panama Canal Authority, the Colón Free Trade Zone and other key stakeholders within Panama’s business ecosystem.

LIMITED PLACES AVAILABLE — EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST CLOSE ON 15 DECEMBER 2026

Companies, investors and organisations interested in participating are invited to register their interest online or contact IGTCA directly at membership@GreenTradeandCommerce.org for further information. Places are limited, and expressions of interest will be accepted until 15 December 2026.

From Aberdeen to Panama, the International Roundtable continues to transform dialogue into meaningful partnerships, investment opportunities and sustainable business growth.

The event was co-organised by MBY Consultants and The FuturED Institute, in partnership with the International Green Trade & Commerce Association (IGTCA) – The Green Chamber.
