When the<\/span> IV International Roundtable on Technologies for Sustainability<\/b><\/a> opens on 21 October 2026 at<\/span> Maryculter House<\/b><\/a>, Aberdeen, it will do so with an important addition to the conversation: H.E. Guido J. Martinelli,<\/span> Ambassador of Panama to the United Kingdom<\/b><\/a>, representing the<\/span> Embassy of the Republic of Panama<\/b><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Panama’s presence at the Roundtable is significant not as ceremony, but as strategy. The country sits at the intersection of several conversations shaping the global energy transition. It is a strategic hub for international business and a gateway to global markets. It is a nation navigating its own energy transition. And it is a place where logistics, trade, and infrastructure matter fundamentally to how the world moves.<\/span><\/p>\n

The participation of the Embassy adds a dimension that the Roundtable deliberately seeks: a voice that brings not just industry expertise or academic research, but government perspective and international diplomatic experience. When you bring together engineers, entrepreneurs, policymakers and investors in one room, you need people who can speak to how national strategy, international collaboration and practical business intersect.<\/span><\/p>\n

This is particularly true when discussing sustainable technologies and their deployment. The energy transition is not a problem a single country solves alone. It requires investment flowing across borders, supply chains coordinating internationally, policy alignment, and institutions that facilitate rather than obstruct. Panama understands this intimately.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Roundtable has, over three previous editions held at<\/span> the Caledonian Club<\/b><\/a>,<\/span> the Royal Air Force Club<\/b><\/a> and<\/span> UNA-UK<\/b><\/a>, built itself around a simple principle: bring the right people into a room designed for honest conversation, and real outcomes follow. The addition of Panama’s Ambassador reflects that commitment. It signals that this Roundtable is not a UK conversation that happens to be in Aberdeen.
