Talk about the energy transition and most conversations focus on technology, new turbines, advanced reactors, hydrogen systems. But transforming how we power the world depends on something equally critical: the businesses that supply the industry, and the frameworks that connect them.<\/span><\/p>\n

That is why<\/span> Graeme Rafferty<\/b><\/a>, Supply Chain Manager at<\/span> Offshore Energies UK (OEUK)<\/b><\/a>, brings an essential voice to the<\/span> Technologies for Sustainability \u2013 International Roundtable<\/b><\/a> on 21st October in Aberdeen. His work sits at a point often overlooked in energy discussions: the practical challenge of ensuring that supply chains can deliver on the ambitions we set.<\/span><\/p>\n

At<\/span> OEUK<\/b><\/a>, which represents more than 400 organisations across offshore oil and gas, carbon capture and storage, hydrogen and offshore wind, Graeme leads industry forums and initiatives that build collaboration across the supply chain. The organisation’s Supply Chain Principles reflect a recognition that competitive advantage in the offshore sector depends not only on what companies can build, but on their ability to source, partner and scale reliably.<\/span><\/p>\n

With an MSc in Purchasing and Supply Chain Management from<\/span> Robert Gordon University<\/b><\/a> and previous European supply chain roles at<\/span> SLB<\/b><\/a>, Graeme combines strategic expertise with operational insight. He understands both the board-level decisions that shape supply-chain strategy and the ground-level realities of delivery across complex, regulated environments.<\/span><\/p>\n

His perspective on this year’s Roundtable is particularly timely. The energy transition is creating new opportunities, but only for businesses equipped to respond. Smaller enterprises, specialist suppliers and emerging firms are asking: how do we compete? How do we access these opportunities? How do we build the partnerships and capability needed to serve the industry at scale? These are not technology questions. They are about business environment, industry collaboration and structural support.<\/span><\/p>\n

By bringing supply-chain experience into a room with engineers, entrepreneurs, policymakers and investors, Graeme will help explore a question that often determines whether innovation succeeds or stalls: How do we ensure that the supply chain keeps pace with ambition?<\/span><\/p>\n
