There is no shortage of ambition around the energy transition. New technologies, new infrastructure and new investment opportunities are emerging across the energy landscape. But between identifying an opportunity and delivering a successful project sits a much harder question:

What does it actually take to turn ambition into infrastructure that works?

Engineering decisions have to translate into projects that can be built and operated. New technologies have to integrate with existing infrastructure. Supply chains need the capability and capacity to deliver. And projects have to navigate the operational and practical realities that emerge when an idea moves beyond the drawing board.

Ryan is passionate about bridging that gap between ambition and execution, bringing practical experience of the engineering, operational and commercial realities involved in delivering sustainable infrastructure at scale.

His contribution will be particularly relevant in Aberdeen and the North East of Scotland, where decades of experience delivering some of the world’s most complex energy projects have created a depth of engineering and project capability that can play an important role in the infrastructure required for the next phase of the energy system.

The fourth edition of the Technologies for Sustainability – International Roundtable will be the first held outside London.
